Warren Paquin (# 8) and his brother Ron (# 4) were long time members of the SFRA, and assisted in building the track. Warren and Ron sunk the poles in the banking to support the guardrail, and hung the speedway lights.
Here Warren straps into his #8 TQ which was powered by a Harley motorcycle engine. Look close on the hood and you can see his nickname "Pecos".
Warren loops it and eyes a competitor with suspicion.
Brady Mason was tough competition, but was a family friend to the Paquins off the track. Ron is on the left in this shot, Warren is on the right with his son, Warren Jr.
Warren's time behind the wheel was brief, but he remained a racing fan and a strong supporter of his brother Ron, and the track.
That is Warren Jr. being held by Brady Mason. He caught the racing bug early.
Here was Warren Jr. in his late model at De Soto Speedway. Warren stepped away from driving but continued to sponsor other teams.
It turns out that Warren Jr. found something even more expensive that auto racing!
